Your Journal, Competition

This competition was inspired by the UK Etsy Challenge from March 2009, the theme was red and Turquoise. I really enjoyed working to this random brief and using colour combinations I wouldn't normally choose, I made a hand bound journal that is now in my Etsy shop, you can see my book and all the other entries in the UK Etsy Challenge Flickr Group.

So your bit of the competition is to, in a few words, give a theme for a journal, this could be random words like pink, button, feather or a theme like sailor use your imagination.
Leave your ideas as a comment and a way for me to get in touch with you.
You can mail me an email at mail@lucyjacksondesigns.com if you like.

How and what do you win?
One of the ideas will be drawn, that person will receive a book made in their theme.
A book in this theme will also go into the shop.
I can't wait to see your ideas and get to making one of them.
Good Luck!
You have untill July 11th to enter.

I fancy a journal with a recycled theme - the insides of junk mail envelopes (the blue stuff that looks like net); the windows of the envelopes; freebie newspapers and then maybe something bright like fuschia net or net bags that oranges come in and perhaps some string or garden twine features... I'll stop there I'm getting carried away now.
Great competition idea!

i'd like a teddy bear themed book, all different sizes getting up to mischief! & make some of them stick out-maybe make them felt so they feel soft n cuddly :D :D

I know it's summer, but an autumn theme would be great, lots of lovely trees and leaves. All the beautiful colours of the rainbow come out in autumn, it makes me feel good to be alive.
Fab competition

themes...hmm... I would go with a beachy theme, using hemp thread perhaps? all natural bits n bobs.

I've been for a long walk along a shingle beach today, so I'd like to see a seaside theme. We saw loads of wild flowers, shells, driftwood and of course crashing waves.

I found a lovely vintage sewing machine from a car boot and it goes perfectly with my collection of knitting needles, threads and lots of other old embroidery bits. I would love a journal that illustrated some of these ideas and maybe used some components such as the poppers and safety pins as a way of binding the journal.
Can't wait to see what you produce!!

Just came across your blog. What a fab competition! I'd love a jungle theme. I'm thinking huge ferns, brightly coloured parrots, exotic flowers, a little wooden hut, a hammock, really tall trees, monkeys swinging amongst them... Not sure how you'd make it into a journal mind you!
